Investment in electrolyzer manufacturing has trailed significantly behind other clean technologies

Private investors committed around $300 million in new investment in electrolyzer manufacturing capacity in the United States in 2023 1. The total investment in electrolyzer manufacturing is dwarfed by the investment in other clean technology manufacturing such as solar panels ($2 billion) and electric vehicles ($42 billion) 1.
