Assertion: Future improvements in battery performance may make 100% electric short flights by smaller jets possible in the near future

The challenges facing electric aircraft are primarily engineering challenges that could be overcome with the right innovations. Potential advancements in energy density and charging technology may one day enable battery-powered flights. Higher energy densities would allow batteries to store more power without a substantial increase in size or weight, making them more suitable for aviation applications. Additionally, improvements in fast-charging technology would reduce charging times and make operations for short-distance flights more efficient.¹
