American electrolyzer manufacturers have the capacity to produce around 4.5 GW of electrolyzers
The cumulative nameplate capacity of American electrolyzer manufacturers is approximately 4.5 GW per year.1 However, since most manufacturers operate below capacity, the actual annual production of electrolyzers is likely significantly lower than 4.5 GW.2 Electrolyzer manufacturers have announced investments in around 9.5GW of new manufacturing capacity, but it is impossible to predict if all of these projects will be completed.3
