Ammonia is frequently transported by road and sea
Ammonia is frequently transported by both road and sea due to its widespread use in various industries. When transported by road, ammonia is typically stored as a liquefied gas and carried in specially designed tanks equipped to handle its corrosive nature.1 These tanks are transported by both rail and truck. These tankers must meet strict safety regulations to prevent leaks and ensure the safe delivery of ammonia to its destination. Transporting ammonia by sea involves shipping it in large, refrigerated vessels known as ammonia carriers.2
