Hydrogen has a higher volumetric energy density than lithium-ion batteries

Hydrogen has a higher volumetric energy density than conventional lithium-ion batteries. While lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles typically range from 250 to 700 watt-hours per liter (Wh/L) depending on the battery type.1 Liquid hydrogen has a volumetric energy density of around 2,360 Wh/L.2
