Assertion: Hydrogen can be used for steel production with acceptable, minimal hydrogen leakage

Hydrogen can be used to produce low-carbon primary steel with a hydrogen leakage rate of only .2% to .5%.1 Despite the low leakage rate from the DRI process, steel producers will need to pay close attention to leaks that may emerge while storing hydrogen or transporting it to the production facility.2
